Fighting for America’s land, one case at a time.

Mission Statement

American Land Rescue Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to defending America’s farmland, wildlife, and open spaces through the power of law. We fund environmental attorneys who take on industrial and governmental projects that threaten rural communities, ecological integrity, and agricultural sustainability. Our mission is to ensure that conservation and progress never come at the expense of the land itself. Every case we fund is a stand for accountability, transparency, and the preservation of America’s natural heritage.

FORT EDWARD SOLAR

ORES (Office of Renewable Energy Siting) has superseded New York State’s DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation) to push through a solar complex on DEC-designated grassland habitat. As the photo above shows, New York’s own DEC covered the Wildlife Management Area in signs that note the critical species habitat present where this solar complex is going to go.

If this project is allowed to go through, it will set a dangerous precedent in New York State that allows a unilateral body of government, ORES, to crush not only local town boards, but also the state’s very own environmental agency. This includes grasslands, wetlands, and sensitive habitats, plus endangered species, all of which are designated by field research and compiled data through the DEC.

Serious and swift legal action is required here to force a pause on this 1,800 acre solar industrial complex that is being very aggressively pushed through state processes before government funding runs out mid 2026.

As it currently stands, ORES has determined a second public hearing/feedback period is not needed. ORES has also concluded there is no serious environmental impact here.

That’s where the American Land Rescue Fund comes into the picture. Through donations, we will be enlisting the help of attorneys to take on ORES, New York State, Law 94C, DEC, and relevant parties that have bent the knee to make way for ORES’ unilateral rule of law.

Our Plan of Action

  • Legal Team Mobilization

We’re funding experienced environmental attorneys to challenge the Fort Edward Solar project and defend local farmland through the courts.

  • Case Preparation

Your donations cover legal research, filings, and expert testimony to expose violations and protect the land from industrial overreach.

  • Litigation & Defense

Our attorneys will represent public interest in the case of Fort Edward Solar, defending the town’s right to make its own decision with ‘big solar.’

Once this land is gone, there’s no getting it back.

Solar experiments have ecological consequences.

Fort Edward Solar is proposed for one of the last remaining grasslands of not only New York State, but New England as a whole. That’s why the area has so many DEC-designations attached to it. For many of these species, there is nowhere else for them to go.

We need your help to bring legal action against these tyrants.
